The name Rotterdam dates back from the 13th century and refers to a dam in the river the Rotte. The historic downtown became largely destroyed by a German bombing. Rotterdam is nowadays known for its renewed architecture.Whether you're interested in shopping, architecture or art, Rotterdam has it all!
